Laboratory Session & Internship

Students gain practical skills during  internship at various Health care  facilities. Practical days will fall on Saturdays and Sundays for evening students.

1st Monday September, January, March, June

Eligibility (Any of the Following)

• High school graduate
• Passes in CXC English and a Science or Mathematics.
•  Passes in City & Guilds English & Mathematics at school

Course Duration

• 6 Months (5 months Theory & Practical) 1 month Work experience 

Class Time Options

• Mornings: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (9:00 am to 2:00 pm)
• Evenings: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (5:30 pm to 8:00 pm)
• Saturdays: (6:45 pm to 8:45 pm)
• Sundays: (4:00 to 6:00/ 6:00 to 8:00 pm)

Mandatory Course Materials

• Sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, mercury thermometer, nurses’ watch.
• All course handouts provided including practice exams.
• Textbook list provided includes nursing dictionary (preferably Bailers’) and the Nursing Assistant 10th Edition).

Qualifications

• GICS Level 2 Practical Nursing Diploma
• Level 2 IVQ in Health Care
• NCTVET Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certificate

• Eligibility requirements met
• 70% minimum passing grade in all theory exams
• 70% minimum passing grade in all laboratory exams
• Complete Clinical and Seminar hours; Course work and Portfolio
• BLS Certificate
• City & Guilds units completion
