My experience at Global Institute of Certified Specialists (GICS) was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The many things that I have been taught and learned about healthcare is my greatest success for over seven years. My first year at GICS was very challenging because healthcare was very new to me but I had a great teacher Mr. Walker, a beautiful and outstanding Principal Ms. Natalie Malcolm and some of the most genuine and focused batch mates.

We were the first group of Geriatric students consist of five females and one male. We had a fantastic time we stick together we study together, we had lunch together and we help each other out at all times. We were very nervous when we had exams, very anxious for the results but very happy and excited when we pass.

My happiest day at GICS was when I pass the City & Guilds exam. I was elated. I have no regret at GICS. I have worked in Canada, USA and all around Jamaica. I take care of retired doctors, nurses and so many elderly persons and I owe it all to GICS.

I went to Washington DC to take care of two elderly persons. It was my first white patients the experience was great I was able to UDR my training to the fullest extent and most of all I was sent there by GICS. I was recommended by the principal and the result was very good in fact the persons I cared for and their family and friends was very pleased with my performance

My final comment is a big thank you to this special institution for making me a Healthcare Specialist.

Jamilee Henry

My name is Jamilee Henry. Past student of GICS, Spanish Town Branch 2013. I pursued the Diploma in Phlebotomy Technician which lasted six months.

It was fun being there because I really got the support from the staff members. I did enjoyed our daily devotions then went straight to class afterwards. I was the Class Monitor on the Honour Roll Program. I was grateful.

We did our daily lessons and practicals. I appreciated the opportunity of using the artificial arm for venipunctures in my spare time to practice until I was competent enough in the procedures.

My teacher Mrs. Davis was excellent in her delivery who makes the practical experience feel real until we were able to take in as many volunteers as possible. She put us in a setting where we were comfortable to approach the patients.

I was then sent to the Kingston Public Hospital for clinical rotation until I was able to acquire the 50 venipunctures and more required for the program. I enjoyed my training at the Hospital which resulted with me gaining over 100 sticks.

GICS staff are always pleasant, patient & caring who guide you through the process as well as to advice you if unsure of your career path.

Attending GICS expose me to different characters and personalities.

It was an exposure for me making a Phlebotomy Kit with the different types of needles, cotton, alcohol, band aid etc.

Studying at GICS was a great choice for my career.

I would encourage anyone to attend the school and with the City & Guilds and AMT students can get the opportunity to travel and work abroad. I recommend interested persons to think about it & make the right choice which is GICS all the best.

I think the best word that describes GICS is Excellence.

My name is Marsha Henry. I attended GICS Spanish Town Branch from January 2014 until April 2014, enrolled to the Phlebotomy Technician Program.

GICS offered great program contents, qualified and experience teachers and staff. My course and qualification was completed in the specified time.

GICS is a great school and I would recommend it. I am currently a Phlebotomist at Central Medical Laboratories Ltd.

Thanks to GICS for the knowlege acquired. My aim is to be a Medical Technologist In the near future.

I can honestly attest to their slogan " Learning above mediocrity. That fits your life". Their teachers have done beyond their duty to ensure that each student is well equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for their field of study. I have to say a big thank you to the kind and friendly staff of the institution and give a more heart felt gratitude and appreciation to my Phlebotomy Technician Teacher Miss L. Parkes. You were one of my biggest motivators and cheerleader. Thank you for pushing us beyond our set limits. Giving us regular pop quiz sessions ensuring that each person has grasp what was taught, thus preparing us to be successful in our American Medical Technologists examinations.
